With school season upon us yet again, the TTC is also busy making sure students can get to and from their educational services as efficiently as possible. And, while the CNE may have ended, there’s still a lot to do in the city in September (hello, TIFF!) to say our final goodbyes to summer. Those also require some changes and adjustments from the transit infrastructure. So, if you’re planning to take transit to school, work or play this month, these are the service changes to know about.
These are the TTC changes to know
Of course, with the King Street closure for TIFF festivities, the TTC’s King Streetcar will not operate within the festival areas. But, making matters trickier, the 501 Queen streetcar will also endure a temporary route change from September 13 to 22 to accommodate Toronto Hydro work.
There’s also a temporary route change on the 122 Graydon Hall line from September 5 to 22 due to flood protection work.

The good news is that a ton of TTC service increases kick in as school begins. The 102 Markham Road, 65 Parliament, 902 Markham Road Express, 134 | 943, 905 Eglinton East Express, 939 Finch Express, 38 | 938, 41 Keele, 75 Sherbourne and 927 Highway 27 Express are all experiencing service increases beginning in September.

There’s a schedule change on the 176 Mimico Go line as a result of the Go Train’s Lakeshore West train time change.
And, as a result of the Main Street Station construction ending, all of the associated bus routes will have their service restored to total capacity.
The 201 Bluffer’s Park route and the 203 High Park route are both experiencing seasonal service reductions that begin this month.

There’s also a new pilot program premiering on the TTC this month. “The 11A (Davisville Station-Steeles) branch will be subject to a pilot initiative to include additional loading time northbound at Bayview Station,” a service alert reads.
Finally, there’s a new stop at Milliken GO station and the 25 Don Mills route is adding more TTC buses during the morning rush hour.
These service advisories are all available on the TTC’s website.
