As if it wasn’t already, Parkdale is the definitive place to be this weekend with the invasion of the multi-arts Lab Cab festival. This free family-oriented festival is brimming with events that cater to art appreciators of all kinds. With numerous performances ranging from two to 30 minutes and artists of all skill levels and styles, this festival is aimed at showing the diversity that Parkdale has to offer. Showcases run the gamut from comedy to theatre, dance, visual arts, poetry and everything in between. Taking place on the main artery of Queen West, shows and activities will be held at various venues from Roncesvalles to Dufferin Street. Festival goers will be able to feel a true sense of the community, as well as the opportunity to actively participate in arts based workshops. Funded by the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage (Building Communities through Arts and Heritage), the Toronto Arts Council and the Ontario Trillium Foundation and sponsored by the Parkdale Village BIA, the festival is sure to be a wild, artistic ride. A family friendly one, that is.
The Lab Cab Festival runs July 27th and 28th, from noon to 6pm.
