Anytime we see a new festival launch in the city, we’re overcome with a mix of anticipation and excitement. This Victoria Day long weekend, Groupe Sensation Mode (you know, the team behind MTL’s wicked Festival Mode & Design) is launching URBANI_T. Billed as a public playground, URBANI_T celebrates the pillars of culture. Namely design, art, music, and style.
Taking over Nathan Philips Square from Thursday, May 17 to Saturday, May 19, URBANI_T presents attendees with the opportunity to revel in the spectacle. Fashion squads; art installations; pop-up shops; food trucks; live music & DJs. There are also talks with famed local personalities like Jeanne Beker and the Beckerman twins. There will even be a live performance by Juno Award-nominated Clairmont the Second during the Playground fashion show.
URBANI_T has even caught the eye of Mayor John Tory. Who says the fest “further enriches the cultural fabric of Toronto, and will be a beacon of entertainment for locals and tourists alike.”
