Vancouver, do you like to eat? If the answer is a resounding “yes,” then you need to attend Canada’s ultimate consumer food expo: EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival, running May 30th to June 1st.
Back for its 12th year, this three-day family-friendly exposition, housed under the dome at BC Place Stadium, offers foodies the opportunity to watch top celebrity chefs – like Rob Feenie, Chuck Hughes, and Vikram Vij – show off their contemporary cooking techniques and behind-the-scenes culinary magic. In addition, there will be wine, beer and cheese seminars, hundreds of beverage and cooking related exhibits, culinary competitions, and of course, fantastic shopping opportunities.

One of the main reasons people visit this festival is for the food (obviously!). It’s really the perfect way to eat your way around our fabulous city – but, under one gigantic roof. Munch on unique cuisines from numerous local Vancouver restaurants in the Bites section, situated by the Food Network Celebrity Stage. (We’ll be spending most of our time there!) And if you don’t spot us in Bites, we’ll most likely be in the Sips area, whetting our palates with some of the best wines, beers, and spirits that British Columbia and the world has to offer. It’s a hard life!
Festival attendees who are hooked on cooking competition shows need to park themselves at the Food Network Celebrity Stage on Friday night. Why? The Celebrity Chef Throwdown is back for its third year! Local contenders Vikram Vij (Food Network Celebrity Chef, restaurateur and entrepreneur), Ned Bell (Executive Chef of Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver), and Jackie Ellis (Owner of Beaucoup Bakery) will battle it out in a fun, fast-paced culinary fight to victory – and yes, a mystery ingredient is involved.
