Bronzers and glosses and polishes, oh my! Yes, it was a beauty addict’s fantasy the other day: a room full of the latest pretty-you-up products to touch, test, and even take home.
The Ontario-based consumer products distributor, ACI Brands, hosted an event at the lovely Rosewood Hotel Georgia to showcase the recently launched (and soon to hit stores) products from beauty brands Stila, Anna Sui, Cargo Cosmetics, Ardell Lashes, Ceramic Glaze and Seche.

As beauty editors and bloggers nibbled on pretty pastel-coloured macarons, the ladies from ACI shared the latest beauty trends – radiant skin, bold lips, and lots of luscious lashes – and cool tips, like pressing a great pinky eye shadow onto your lips, then topping with a clear gloss for a soft romantic pout.
We noted that the Cargo Suited To A Tea palette, inspired by a lovely English afternoon tea, would make an excellent gift for mom (hint, hint). And we’re definitely adding Stila’s new Color Correcting Cream to our makeup bags. This skincare-meets-cosmetics hybrid softens the appearance of pesky fine lines, wrinkles, and other unwanted imperfections, provides 72 hours (yes!) of hydration, and creates a smooth, flawless looking complexion. But, the product that surprisingly caught our attention was the false eyelashes from Ardell. (We tend to stay far, far away from lash enhancements, for fear of looking like… well, a stripper!)
The ACI folk were determined to apply lashes to our peepers, and assured us we’d like them. After a quick trim of the lashes (to ensure a perfect fit), adhesive application, and gently applying the lashes to our upper lash line, their work was done. And the result? We loved them! We had the fullness and length that we’ve really never experienced before, but without our lashes looking ostentatious. And they’re actually pretty easy to apply. Thanks, ACI!
