Black Kettle Brewing Company
720 Copping Street North Vancouver
To start the year on the right note, North Vancouver’s Black Kettle was first out of the gate for new breweries of 2014. They’re brewing up Pale Ale, Wheat Ale and an IPA, and will happily sell you a glass or growler of beer in their tasting room.
Bomber Brewing
1488 Adanac Street, Vancouver
Bomber Brewing owners Don Farion and Dean Mallel know their craft beer and they’ve been serving it for years at Incendio Pizzeria and BierCraft. Bomber opened in February at 1488 Adanac Street in Vancouver, and they are focusing on three beers in six packs including an Extra Special Bitter, a Pilsner, and an IPA. The tasting room is open for tastings, cask and growler fills.

Green Leaf Brewing Co.
123 Carrie Cates Ct., North Vancouver
Green Leaf Brewing Co. set up shop in Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver. Here, the tasting room serves up the Bitter Leaf IPA and Pie Hole Pale Ale, which they enthusiastically pour for craft beer lovers.
Steel & Oak Brewing Co.
1319 Third Avenue, New Westminster
Head out to New Westminster for the newly opened Steel & Oak Brewing Co.’s take on Pilsners, ESBs, English Pale Ales, and Hefeweizen. The “Oak” in the name refers to a bottle aging program that is in the works.

Main Street Brewing Company
261 East 7th Avenue, Vancouver
Just off Main Street on East 7th Avenue, Main Street Brewing opened in late May. The heritage building was actually a brewery earlier in the 1900s, so we’ve come full circle in this historical brewing area appropriately name Brewery Creek. Brewmaster Jack Bensley is crafting a Pilsner, Session Ale, Brown Ale, and a variety of ever-changing brews. Stop in for some sausage rolls or 12-inch hotdogs to pair with your pints.
Postmark Brewing
55 Dunlevy Avenue, Vancouver
Brewmaster Craig Noble (who recently released Craft, a documentary on craft brewing) has set up shop at the Settlement Building on Dunlevy in Vancouver’s Railtown. They are currently producing a Raspberry Lemon Zest Hef, a Red IPA, and an Irish Stout. Stop by the growler window for a refill.
