We’re all about discovering the latest and hippest culinary hot-spots and trends in YVR. Lately that’s been all about traveling around the city in search of our next dish thanks to a handful of food tours that deliver the goods in spades.
There’s a few exceptional offerings that have piqued our interest as of late and are worth adding to your food-focused agenda in the month ahead: Tasting Plates Main Street Edition (May 14th), Foodie Tours, and Off the Eaten Track’s latest brunch edition.

Let’s start with hitting up Tasting Plates Main Street between Broadway and 28th for a culinary tour we’re already excited about. The Main Street neighbourhood is set to welcome groups to an assortment of different cafes, restaurants and lounges in the area for a night of non-stop indulgence (well, at least until around 10pm). With spots like Tapas23, the Rocky Mountain Flatbread Co., Rosemary Rocksalt, and Miura Waffle already confirmed, the line-up is looking more than appealing.
This fun tour gives guests the opportunity to take their time checking out a variety of participating restaurants during the evening, all at their own leisure. Each restaurant will feature a special dish just for the event, and it’s a great opportunity to meet new people, mingle with chefs, and learn about a new area. Tickets are $40 in advance or $50 after May 12th, and can be purchased here.
Next up, don’t miss out on one of several upcoming Foodie Tours set to take the city’s streets by storm. Pick and choose between the Granville Island Market Tour that will land you front and center at Vancouver’s most visited attractions amidst the bustle of all the delectable market action ($49). Or, perhaps you’re more into exploring the vast number of Vancouver’s different food trucks for a tasting experience. Nosh on gourmet hot dogs, grab a gooey grilled-cheese, freshly made taco, or enjoy the daily catch and polish it all off with chocolate chili cookies for a surprise hit of flavour ($49).

Finally, grab a spot alongside like-minded foodies and gear up for some serious indulging on the Guilty Pleasures Gourmet Tour. Your tastebuds will feel as though they’ve died and gone to heaven as you make your way around the city tasting the best of Vancouver cuisine ($69).
Finally, one of our favourites, Off the Eaten Track has just introduced their first Vancouver’s Best Brunch Tour, which pays a visit to five local businesses in the neighbourhood and includes a bite to eat or a beverage at each stop.
Expect to savour egg frittata with homemade salsa, juicy Bolivian pastries from a family run restaurant, partake in a sausage tasting from a local butcher shop and sip away the day with a specialty tea tasting at Vancouver’s smallest tea shop (followed by a brunch fixture: a mind-blowing Caesar). This special tour costs $65 and runs each Saturday. Find out all the details and purchase tickets online here.
