Grab your mat and best stretchy gear and be sure to downward dog it to one of Vancouver’s many free yoga sessions setting up shop in town this summer.
Semperviva Yoga
Head to the beach (again) and catch complimentary yoga on the beach with Semperviva Yoga. They’ll be setting up a free session all summer long (every Sunday) from 6pm until 7pm by the Kits Pool/ Show Boat stage. Grab your mate and make your way down about 10-15 minutes prior to class start as space fills up.

Lululemon
Not to plug product in a post… but it’s a home grown one at that: Lululemon offers free yoga at many of its Vancouver-based stores each week. You’re invited to join in on the fun as display cases are pushed to the periphery of the room and mats are rolled out for some serious planking, backward bending and bonding. Click here to learn more and find a time. Added bonus (and a west coast one at that), on July 30th, they’ll be hosting a Yoga for Surfers session with Chris Duggan.
Yoga on the Mountain
Returning to the top of Grouse Mountain for another blissed-out season is Yoga on the Mountain. Every Saturday and Sunday, head to the top (either via the Grouse Grind or cable car) and prepare to start off your day on a serious high (you’ll be 4,039 feet up). Classes get going at 10am and are held at the Chalet level plaza. Talk about a great way to wake up.
Kits Space Project
Free yoga is taking place throughout the summer at Kitsilano Beach. Head down every Monday, Wednesday and Friday (between 7pm and 8pm) for a complimentary session. It’s part of the Kits Space Project meant to help foster a sense of community. It runs through the summer until August 31st.

Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak
Now though this one isn’t quite free – it combines two sports into one, so we figure it gets you some pretty good bang for the buck. SUP Yoga is offered at $30 drop in (or score four sessions for $100) at Deep Cove Canoe & Kayak. With the backdrop of your session being the stunning North Vancouver nook that is Deep Cove, you’ll have fun stretching, strengthening and chilling surrounded by mountains and the gentle lapping of water below.
