For those looking for a special evening out and the opportunity to sample a one night only menu from some of the top chefs in the city, Les Dames Summerdine is a night you won’t want to miss. In addition to it being an entirely delicious event, it is also a superb way to donate to one of the best groups of ladies in the city who do fantastic work elevating the careers of woman in the hospitality industry, as well as contributing funds to programs ensuring school children learn the value of food, veggies and gardening. We’re talking, of course, about Les Dames d’Escoffier.
For one night only (on August 6th at 6:30pm), select restaurants around British Columbia have donated a table, and the BC Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier are hosting a province-wide culinary celebration – a giant dinner party that you can be part of for a mere $79. This gets you a minimum of four courses and also includes wine at your selected restaurant. There’s also a culinary-themed raffle adding an extra layer of excitement to the night, and a chance to win some great hotel stays, wines, and dinners out.

Restaurants include a table of eight at The Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, where you will be seated at the long table on the rooftop amongst the gardens; The Fairmont Pacific Rim’s Curators Table overlooking the lobby; Graze Food and Drink, a delightful vegetarian spot, where you and five friends could book the garden table in the back; and a table in the Okanagan where the Naramata Heritage Inn will be serving up an al fresco meal at the Forest Green Man Lavender Farm. Other venues will allow a view right into the kitchen. Book Vancouver’s Burdock & Co or Fable Kitchen or Kelowna’s Poppadoms or Victoria’s North 48 and you can watch the chefs prepare your meal and perhaps pick up a cooking tip or two.
This year’s theme is Garden Party, so be sure to dress for the occasion and book quickly if you want the entire table, or even go solo and join a group of fellow food lovers for a chance to meet some future dining companions.
