Last week we popped by to check out the official opening of Earls Yaletown’s redone and rebranded top-floor space – now known as The Loft – and we’ve gotta say, it’s one stylishly updated spot we think you’ll want to see for yourselves this season.
Since ditching its V Lounge moniker, The Loft has undergone a bit of a facelift to switch up the mood and atmosphere, ditching the darker colours in favour of lighter tones throughout.

Exposed wood beams lend a rustic touch, as do whitewashed brick walls and classic penny-style tiling. Minimalist leather booth seating and cocktail tables are strategically spaced throughout to create a sense of airiness – with industrial lighting highlighting an eclectic mix of statement pieces (we loved the life-sized statue of a horse).
A large space has been reserved for private parties, perfect for the upcoming holiday season, and a large family-style communal table just begs for small-scale gatherings.
Still in place is the central U-shaped bar, revamped to echo the sleek new look of the room with a lighter surface and subtle glow from below.

We’d be remiss not to note just how great the food was at The Loft. It was pretty much endless at that, with tray after tray of skewered prawns, mini burgers, and dynamite rolls delivered to satiate after-work appetites.
Partygoers had no shortage of options when it came to sips with everything from prosecco to beer available. We found ourselves sipping on a few specialty drinks created for the party, such as the Cabin Fever and the Bee’s Knees (served in a classic Billy the Bee glass with individual honey dippers), alongside several other craft cocktails.
After a few bevvies, the crowd loosened up and got in line. The Collective You and their camera-ready team were on-hand to snap black and white shots at the party. There was definitely no shortage of guests willing to ham it up for the camera at their cool pop-up studio, thanks to a few-too-many Tequila Sunrises.
Check out The Loft at Earls Yaletown located at 1095 Mainland Street.
