We’re huge fans of the Salt Tasting Room’s Long Table Series of dining events that present a great way to ditch kitchen duty in favour of a night socializing at this award-winning tasting room and wine bar based in Gastown. They take place throughout the year and are a laidback, unpretentious way to score a tasty meal paired with a craft beer, wine or spirit coupled with good conversation.
In addition to the Long Table, Salt also features another dining series that takes guests below-deck as part of their Salt Cellar Series, and they’ve recently launched a trio of dinners perfect for the summer season…
Salt Tasting Room has opened up its cellar for guests to sip and sample exceptional artisanal cheese, charcuterie, wine and fine spirits from top producers across BC, and kicked things off late last month with Vancouver-based Italian specialty food distributor Bosa Foods hosting a tasty night.

Coming up this week (on July 10th) is their special Women & Whisk(e)y dinner. Ladies out there who love a good dram are set to enjoy an evening featuring a series of classics perfectly paired with a sampling menu of charcuterie bites.
Finally, to wind down summer in style, Sandhill Winery is taking the helm for a night of samplings. Known as one of BC’s most iconic wineries, they’ll be offering guests a taste of new releases as well as current top-sellers.
These unique dining experiences offer excellent value for those who appreciate an off-the-beaten-track dining locale, tasting plates, trying out new wines, spirits, and craft beer while learning first-hand about local products in the region.
