Winter Farmers Market
You can’t go wrong this weekend with a trip to the Winter Farmers Market out by Nat Bailey Stadium. Get your weekly dose of greens and support local suppliers while you’re at it. The Winter Farmers Market features a rotation of vendors, so you’ll always find something new and interesting to head home with — we’re talking baked goods, artisan spreads, locally-roasted coffee, and more.
Be My East Van Valentine
Head to The WISE Hall on February 14 for what’s shaping up to be one killer anti-Valentine’s Day soiree dubbed “Be my East Van Valentine.” They’ll have booze, cabaret-style entertainment, and live jazz to get you in the mood for a healthy dose of sex comedy. Curious? You’ll just have to go and see exactly what that entails.

Valentine’s Carnival
Now, if you are attached, why not ditch the norm and make your way out to the Valentine’s Carnival? It’s all going down at the Casa Nova Café, featuring a decidedly Spanish take on the V-Day. Aside from traditional Spanish cuisine, sangria, beer, and plenty of boisterous music and entertainment, guests are encouraged to go all-out in Fiesta-style costumes for prizes.
Rio Theatre
Make your way to the Rio Theatre this weekend and plan on making it a night as you get set to catch classic DiCaprio flicks like Titanic and Romeo + Juliet. As per usual, bonus points ($ off your ticket) if you dress to theme… and they serve beer! What more can you ask for?
