BC Home and Garden Show
The B.C. Home and Garden Show is taking place this weekend and is the perfect place to head if you’re on the hunt for some spring-spiration. With more than 425 different exhibitors, demos from top Vancouver celeb chefs, on-stage tips from celebrity designers and builders (like Bryan Baeumler of HGTV’s Leave it to Bryan), and a slew of other cool features, you’ll be planning a full-on overhaul of the home in no time.
Chinese New Year
Make it official this weekend and head down to International Village at Chinatown to celebrate Chinese New Year and the Year of the Goat in style. The colourful cultural event attracts 150,000 to multiple days of performances and entertainment. Don’t miss Sunday’s big draw to usher in the Chinese New Year — the parade is set to take over the streets with 3,500 participating performers setting the stage.
Winterruption
Even if it doesn’t quite feel like winter around Vancouver, Granville Island’s annual seasonal celebration Winterruption is still the perfect excuse to escape the house and head down for some quality cultural fun. Check out one of many outdoor art displays (including the largest outdoor mural ever created by OSGEMEOS from Brazil), catch live music, DJ sets, and indulge in the Sustainable Seafood Market Dinner, amongst many things.

Science World After Dark
Unleash your inner-geek this Friday and nab tickets to attend Science World After Dark where you’ll find a massive adults-only party complete with multiple DJs, bars, and plenty of room to dance and explore. These events pop up every few months and sell-out fast so don’t delay.
The Oscars at the Rio Theatre
Screw the couch on Sunday. Head down to Rio Theatre and watch the 87th Academy Awards in an authentic cinematic setting. They’ll have free admission if you go red-carpet ready (as well as feature the bonus of an open bar and plenty of snacks too).
