The forecast might be looking a bit on the soggy side for the next few days, but don’t let that dampen your spirits. We’ve got plenty of ideas to help keep you entertained and occupied throughout the weekend, so read on and gear up accordingly.
3rd Annual Candytown
Kick off the holidays today and head down to Yaletown for the 3rd Annual Candytown celebrations. A free outdoor Christmas festival, Candytown had around 15,000 people stroll through last year alone and this edition ought to be no exception. As the city’s only free winter festival, it captures the holiday spirit perfectly with Mainland Street transformed into a winter wonderland. Check out local stores, carollers, and Christmas characters while you stock up on holiday treats at a special pop up market.

Anonymous Art Show
Tonight, score a seriously good deal on original artwork and pop by the Anonymous Art Show in North Vancouver. With artwork priced at only $100.00, you’ll add a splash of cultured colour to your space (all works are sold unframed 8” x 8” x 1 ½” canvas or wood panel). Here’s the deal: the sale of all artwork is divided between artists and the NVCAC with the artist remaining anonymous until after the purchase is made. It starts tonight until December 20, so you can even incorporate a little early Christmas shopping in to your plans too.

We’ve already outlined our top reasons for getting off your butt and out to explore the city’s fantastic art scene as part of the Eastside Culture Crawl… well, let’s just recap that in brief, shall we? It is on now through the weekend, and is the perfect opportunity to get yourself acquainted with hundreds of talented artists as they create work in-studio. Cruise around alongside 20,000 or so others who will be partaking in this 18th annual roaming festival.

Don’t let the rain keep you from lacing up for a 5km-fundraiser run through Stanley Park Saturday morning as part of the Mustache Miler. It’s all part of the Movember campaign to raise awareness and funds toward the fight against prostate cancer. Whether you already sport your own ‘stashe or need a little stick-on assistance, the run is guaranteed to be fun.
