Farmers Markets
This is definitely a good weekend to head out to one of Vancouver’s numerous farmers markets that are in full seasonal swing. Venture out to Trout Lake, over to Kitsilano, check out the West End, or meander over to Steveston and Kerrisdale to score your fresh pickings. New on the market scene: Be sure to pop out to the White Rock Farmers Market to discover a totally different beach-side ambiance (live music included).
Caribbean Days Festival
Spice things up and head over to the North Shore for the annual Caribbean Days Festival (taking place all weekend long in Waterfront Park). It’s easy to make your way across to North Van via the Seabus (and it saves you battling for a parking spot). This festival attracted over 70,000 last year and features live music, entertainment, an array of tantalizing cuisine, and cultural activities to take in. Don’t miss it!
VIVA Vancouver
Also taking place this weekend, VIVA Vancouver welcomes Portobello West Market to the heart of downtown for a day of pop-up shopping. On Sunday, July 27th, Portobello West vendors will take over a section of this closed off multi-block portion of Granville Street to create the perfect outdoors marketplace you will definitely want to check out. For a complete list of the 30+ vendors participating in this weekend’s Portobello West event, visit their website.
