This is the first part of several posts we’ll be sharing as part of our quest to reveal the best patios worth hitting up around Vancouver this summer. With that being said (and now that July is upon us) it’s time to roll out some of the best options for beachfront dining on the dunes.

The Beachhouse Restaurant & Lounge
If you want to venture outside of the city, not too far away from the heart of it all is the renowned Beachhouse Restaurant & Lounge. Located at the foot of West Vancouver’s Dundarave Pier, this fine dining restaurant has an amazing beach patio that provides some of the best atmosphere and ambiance around – perfect for those special occasions and date nights.

The Galley Patio and Grill
If you’re looking to get into a few casual beverages and a burger right on the strip of stunning Jericho Beach, The Galley Patio and Grill is a real winner in our books. It’s been around for a few decades and boasts some of the best views of the beachfront, as well as the cityscape of downtown Vancouver from a distance and the neighbouring islands off the coast. It’s casual, friendly, easygoing, and the ideal destination post-beach day.
Cactus Club English Bay
We knew this buzzing hub, located right on Beach Avenue, would be a favourite from its birth a few years back, offering spectacular views of the sandy dunes at English Bay and a prime spot for sunsets as you sip on sangria. The patio peels around the side of the building, perfectly positioned for some of the best people watching in the city.

Local Public Eatery
Okay, so it’s not technically on the dunes, but it’s literally several steps away from Kits beach, offering up hours of sunny patio real estate. Just remember, Local’s patio packs up early on sunny Saturdays and Sundays, so come fully prepped to wait it out. It’ll be worth it once you’re sipping on their famous Caesar in a boot overlooking the crowds.
The Boathouse Restaurant
An awesome local Vancouver conglomerate of patio dining by the beach, the Boathouse Restaurant chain now boasts eight locations throughout the Lower Mainland. Some of our favourite spots for beachfront dining are the Kits beach and English Bay hubs (right across the street from the local beaches). They’re always packed to the brim and serving up great monthly deals (seafood specials).
