On Monday night, Michael’s on Simcoe was shining bright as Veuve Clicquot presented Canada’s 2014 Veuve Clicquot Business Woman Award to the against-all-odds restaurateur Cora Tsouflidou, owner and founder of the Chez Cora breakfast chain.
An award that has been given to businesswomen across the globe for 42 years, the BWA was initiated to honour women who personify the same business ethic and entrepreneurial spirit as Veuve Clicquot’s founder, Madame Clicquot. The evening was attended by some of the most influential women in Toronto, notably Mary Symons and Janette Ewan, who came out to celebrate the single mother of three who almost 30 years ago, took a chance on an innovative breakfast/brunch restaurant concept and turned it into a National chain with 127 locations.
Champagne was flowing and the Michael’s on Simcoe hors d’oeuvres were relished as the crowd mingled and listened attentively to the very admirable Cora Tsouflidou.
