If you’ve lived in Toronto for a while, chances are you’ve picked up a donut from Von Doughnuts. Unfortunately the location closed this year but the sign is still on the front! Mysterious? A Toronto donut mystery? Well, mystery solved: a new shop has taken over!

Vlad Bakery

This new bakery has taken over the former Von Doughnuts and have stayed fairly under the radar! With no website or Instagram, the presence of the shop is only established by foot traffic at the moment.

Vlad’s is serving Polish food but don’t worry, donuts are still on the menu (they’re called paczki aka Polish donuts). They also serve cookies, arts, bread, cakes, potato pancakes (yes please), cabbage rolls, stuffed peppers and more!

“I’m excited to have Polish food in the east end!” said someone on a local Facebook Group about Vlad’s.

“I went in last week specifically for a Von Donut and instead picked up a couple of delicious plum and custard paczki, I will be back for some of the hot food. The cabbage rolls looked amazing.” said another.
