Toronto’s The Weeknd taps into his philanthropic side and donates $50k to the University of Toronto
The Toronto Star is reporting that the Weeknd has recently Donated $50,00 to the Universtiy of Toronto to support and organize an Ethiopic Studies Program. As a proud Ethiopian-Canadian, The Weeknd worked closely with the Bikila Award Organization, which specializes in the academic advancements and the promotion of business excellence within the Canadian-Ethiopian community. The $50,000 donation will go to support the creation of a course that will teach students about Ge’ez, an ancient Ethiopian script and language also known as Ethiopic.
