Summer is in full swing, but there are still tons of new TV and movies dropping on streaming services and in theatres this July. From big-ticket films starring Ryan Gosling to buzzy reality TV and returning favourites, there’s a ton to keep you occupied if you’re choosing to stay in and avoid the smoky air. Here’s what we’re watching on streaming platforms and beyond this month.
Prime Video’s new July offerings
Amazon’s original comedy series The Lake returns for season two on the streaming service. The boathouse is now up in flames, and the drama is only making the fires worse. Julia Stiles stars in this dramedy that’s about relationships, family, and an idyllic summer scene gone wrong. It’s oddly fitting for a July that sees the whole country covered in smoke.
Season four of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan also returned to Amazon Prime on June 30, with episodes dropping every Friday. John Krasinski reprises his role as the lead character, and the press release definitely gets fans excited. “The fourth and final season of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan finds the titular character on his most dangerous mission yet: facing an enemy both foreign and domestic,” it says. “As the new CIA Acting Deputy Director, Jack Ryan is tasked with unearthing internal corruption, and in doing so, uncovers a series of suspicious black ops that could expose the vulnerability of the country.”

Netflix’s popular reality show returns: Too Hot To Handle, Season 4
Too Hot To Handle is one of Netflix’s blockbuster reality shows, and season five returns to the streaming giant on July 14. The new cast members are introduced to the public on Instagram, and the new season promises to be just as juicy as all of its predecessors. The series will run with new dropping throughout the summer.
A dose of nostalgia from Paramount+ this July
ZOEY 102 premieres on Paramount+ on July 27, and the movie sees many of the original cast members reprise their roles, including Jamie Lynn Spears, Matthew Underwood, and Sean Flynn. “Over a decade after the iconic series ended, ZOEY 102 finds Zoey Brooks still trying to figure out life and love, this time in her 20s. Zoey and Chase did not end up in Hawaii that summer and haven’t heard from each other since,” the press release says. “When close friends Quinn and Logan announce they’re getting married, Zoey and Chase find themselves in the wedding party.”
I WANNA ROCK: THE ’80s METAL DREAM also premieres on the streaming service on July 18. The new series follows five young musicians chasing stardom in the cut-throat world of ’80s metal. Only some will find the success they dream of, but each of them offers a brand-new look into the metal game.
People are running to the theatres this month

The movie will officially be released on July 21 and is generating tons of buzz leading up to opening night.
