Happy Wine Wednesday! This week I have great news: there’s a very cool Toronto restaurant that took my advice from the piece I wrote a couple of months back on restaurants that offer free BYOW nights… Kultura is now offering free corkage every Thursday night!
I have a pet peeve – well, truth be told, I have many… but this one’s a big one. Why do most restaurants only offer free corkage on Sundays and Mondays? I get it. It’s about getting people off their couch and into the restaurant chairs. But personally, those are the days I try not to drink… so this enticement doesn’t work on me. But Thursdays? Yep, that’s a fabulous drinking day and finally there’s a (great) restaurant that gets it, too.
Kultura has such a cool vibe and the food is just plain good. If you haven’t been, it’s a must try in Toronto. Everyone who goes there for the first time always comes out saying, “Wow.” So the fact that they have now implemented this awesome Thursday wine program means I am happy to sit and enjoy my fabulous $18 bottle of rose while relishing in their delicious share plate menu. The menu, which includes some of the best baby lamb chops I have ever tried, has a slight Asian twist with flavours that appeal to everyone. It’s a great spot to bring friends and just chill for the night. I mean, friends, BYOW, and delicious tapas that won’t break your bank account? No brainer.
