For many people, cooking is a boring yet necessary means to an end. It’s a way to put gas back into the car, as it were. Heresy, we say! Mildred’s Temple Kitchen and Winterlicious have rounded up some domestic chefs, kitchen connoisseurs, and bon vivants who are seriously passionate about the craft of cooking for an explosive culinary showdown of near gluttonous gladiator proportions! Cue epic music.
The 2014 Winterlicious Tin Chef Competition brings together 5 local foodie fighters who will showcase their cooking chops before a live audience and celebrity chef judges. On the panel this year are Chef Alida Solomon (Tutti Matti Restaurant), Chef Paul Brans (Oliver & Bonacini), and Chef Saverio Marci (Cibo Wine Bar), with Chef Donna Dooher of Mildred’s Temple Kitchen acting as the Evening’s Mistress of the Kitchen Stadium. Competitors will vie not only for the coveted title of Tin Chef 2014 but also for an assortment of fabulous food prizes.

If you want to attend this spectator sport of cooking, the event will be held February 5th at Mildred’s Temple Kitchen (85 Hanna Avenue). Doors open at 6:30pm though you should get your ticket ahead of time here.
