Canada’s biggest celebration of music is back, and this year’s list of nominees showcases some of the biggest names to come out of the Canadian music scene. The Juno Awards themselves will take place in Edmonton, Alberta on Monday, March 13, and the list of people who are all vying for an award was released yesterday. The 2023 Juno Award nominees are…
While the complete list of Juno Award nominees can be found online, nominees include Shawn Mendes, Avril Lavigne, The Weeknd, Tyler Shaw, Michael Bublé and Tate McRae, who are all vying for the TikTok Juno Fan Choice Award. Headbanging favourites like Billy Talent, Alexisonfire, Arcade Fire, Arkells, Metric and more, as the industry vets have all been nominated across a span of awards as well.
The Weeknd has six nominations, while Avril Lavigne and Tate McRae follow the “Sacrifice” singer with five apiece, including Pop Album of the Year, Artist of the Year and more.

International Album of the Year Nominees includes the most recent records from Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Lil Nas X, and two by Taylor Swift.
For the second year in a row, the awards ceremony will be hosted by Kim’s Convenience actor and activist Simu Liu. The musical festivities will be held at Rogers Place, the state-of-the-art stadium that plays host to the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers as well as a slew of concerts and events. At the Juno Awards presentations, musical guests include Alexisonfire, Jessie Reyes, Nickelback, Aysanabee and more. The whole event will be televised starting at 8 p.m. on CBC.
The Junos are the all-Canadian version of the Grammy Awards and have recognized some of Canada’s most notable talents, from Drake to Justin Bieber and more.
