Hello, little monsters. People can say what they want about Lady Gaga, but at the end of the day she’s been a game-changer not only in terms of music but also fashion. Besides introducing an entire generation of future fashionistas to Alexander McQueen (do you remember how down you were with wearing bedazzled lobster claws as shoes forever after “Bad Romance,” because I do), the Haus of Gaga has never been afraid to be playful and express her crazy self through clothing… and meat. That said, we can’t imagine what the world would look like without her, so in celebration of her new song coming out August 19th, “The Clap”… er… sorry, “Applause,” here are some of Mama Monster’s best fashion covers from over the years.

Elle – January 2010
This was one of her earlier major covers and Gaga is in one of her more rare, subdued looks. Clean make-up, sex hair, tattoo and a corset give her a sense of vulnerability, simplicity and female sensuality.

Cosmo – May 2010
Feather, leather, and lace. Coupled with that bondage-y bracelet, I would totally associate this outfit with some seriously good Cosmo sex advice, am I right? #howtopleaseyoman

Vanity Fair – September 2010
Lady Gaga in that Somarta catsuit and the heel-less Noritaka Tatehana boots was Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman for the 2010s. Gaga actually had three different covers for the September style issue, solidifying her position in pop culture as a fashion icon. Bedazzled black bliss.

Vogue – March 2011
Always one step ahead of the trend, Mama Monster definitely spearheaded the bleach-blonde, near-invisible eyebrow look. Also the harsh bob in a light bubblegum pink was sublime. She looks like she’s from the 1920s of the future, if that makes any sense?

Harper’s Bazaar – April 2011
HOT FASHION ISSUE + FACE SPIKES. ‘Nuff said. Born This Way Gaga 101.

Elle UK – January 2012
Totally on trend with all them pastels that were so hot in 2012. The sex hair bob getting cropped even more is super fierce.
