Boobyball 2015—aptly named Planet Booby—was out of this world. Taking on an intergalactic theme for its 14th year, the annual Canadian fundraiser (and all-out bash) for young philanthropists took off on October 2 in Toronto featuring UFOs, music, cocktails, and most importantly, some pretty out-there costumes.
But beneath the silver spandex, astronaut gear and party atmosphere was a very good cause: Rethink Breast Cancer, which supports young adults affected by breast cancer through research, education and advocacy. Boobyball was started in 2002 by a group of young women after their friend was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer at the age of 23. Now, the event is one of the year’s hottest tickets, having previously raised over $3.4 million for Rethink Breast Cancer.
If you want to show your support, Rethink Breast Cancer has partnered with select brands in honour of Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). The options range from booking a blowout at a Toronto Civello location in October ($5 donated), to ordering a Pink Perk Cocktail at d|Bar (50% donated), to a limited-edition bright pink bralette from Aerie (100% donated). Retail therapy for a beautiful cause—what more do you need?
