Frat boys rejoice, your favourite ratty old Adidas shower slippers may just be the hottest footwear of spring 2015…
It’s painfully clear after Paris Fashion Week, with Raf Simons, Kris van Assche, and Valentino sending high end shower sandals down the runways, that just about everyone is jumping on the #Dormcore bandwagon. Though we’re not quite sure why, these spiced-up frat boy shoes have become the new must-have spring 2015 footwear for men.

While watching these slovenly slip-ons storm down the runway does kind of break our hearts, we do have some begrudgingly fond feelings towards their resemblance to the Nike shower slippers from our university days. Yes, we do secretly want a pair — if not anything other than solely for some near-masturbatory nostalgia. All we need now are some Bob Marley posters and some poorly-executed sexual experimentation and we’re set.

Regardless of their slipper-like appearance, men’s and women’s fashion have welcomed the #dormcore shower sandal trend with open arms (er… legs?). Much like the khakis and dad jeans of normcore, this is may be another example of the fashion institution running low on original ideas. As noted in our trends forecast for 2015, ugly sandals are in this year — and these are about as ugly as they come. Nothing says you’ve made it quite like dressing like you don’t give a fuck.
