Ice cream has become the dessert trend of the city in recent years. But the rush to become the king of ice cream insanity only increases in the summer months.
Here are some of our favourite spots to eat the kind of creative ice cream you will definitely be sharing on Instagram this summer.

Booyah Inc.
If you were wondering where you can jump on the new ice cream taco trend, Booyah is the shop you are looking for. If you figure out how to eat it without covering your entire self in ice cream, let us know the trick.
Bang Bang Ice Cream
Before everyone was going crazy for soft serve covered in… everything, Bang Bang was the go-to shop for custom ice cream cookie sandwiches. They go above and beyond the chocolate chip cookie/vanilla staple you remember from your childhood.
Junked Food Co.
This place allows you to dip your cone in literally every junk food you’ve ever loved. Junked provides another level of Insta-worthy frozen creations. All based on your favourite childhood snacks.
Sweet Jesus
Sweet Jesus might be the Toronto ice cream shop that truly started the Instagram trend. Especially, with their Krusty the Clown lookalike ice cream cotton candy creations (among many others). The lineup outside this shop is always excruciatingly long in the summer (and especially on weekends). Consider yourself warned.

Dutch Dreams
It’s a staple in the Toronto ice cream scene. Dutch Dreams has been open for 25 years, making Instagram-worthy creations long before the app was ever conceived.
Tito Ron’s
This bustling Kensington Market Filipino food stand offers up an amazing ice cream sundae. It consists of a combination of purple yam, corn and cheese ice cream. Then topped with their famous spring rolls, sauce of choice and plantain chips.
Fugo Desserts
There’s a new shop on the ice cream scene. Their themed ice cream cones go above and beyond. Offering up options like cookie monster, Skor brownie, jasmine milk tea and many more.
Put A Cone On It
With flavours ranging from black sesame to red bean, to guava – every unique taste you’ve ever dreamed of is available here in ice cream form.
TSUJIRI
You know that famous matcha soft serve you’ve been seeing all over your Instagram feed? This is where they’ve been getting it from.

La Diperie
This place offers up your choice of cone, sauce, soft serve, and over 20 varieties of chocolate to dip your cone in. You can then top it with even more deliciousness. Enough said.
Dolce 21 Dessert House
While it will require a trip up to the Pacific Mall, Dolce 21 provides all your premium soft serve dreams. Offering toppings like cotton candy, cookies, pretzels, honeycomb and anything else you’d never think to put on ice cream.

If you’re looking to jump on the Thai rolled ice cream trend, this downtown stop will serve up what you’re looking for.

OG Chimneys
Eva’s original chimneys are the Hungarian pastry cones you’ve been seeing all over your Instagram feed, and at festivals around the city. It’s like eating ice cream from a doughnut. Yes, please.
Pancho’s Bakery
Head to Kensington Market or one of Pancho’s other locations if you’re looking to photograph (and eat) their famous, delicious churro cones.
Woofles and Cream
Located in Markham, head to Woofles and Cream for soft serve paired with sweet or savoury egg waffles and a variety of delicious toppings. It’s well worth the trek (and likes).
