While vacations themselves may be relaxing, preparing for them is often times more work than… well just staying at work. However, when you live in a climate as cold as Canada’s, it’s at about this time of year when we snowbirds feel the warm southern breeze beckoning us to flight. If you’re going to spend all that time, effort, and cash going to the tropics, isn’t it better to leave your fur in Canada? And we don’t mean the kind of fur you buy at Holts, BTW. Here are some products we suggest to help you stay hairless over the holidays.

Tria Beauty Laser Hair Removal 4x

This at-home laser hair removal system is the most preferred technology among dermatologists (i.e. diode laser technology) that shoots a beam of powerful light into the energy source of your hair follicle and zaps it away forever. It can be used for both face and body and should have you as smooth as the statue of David within 3 months of continued use. The catch? It can’t be used on darker skin tones or for people with exceptionally light hair.

Inhibitif Hair Removal Serum

While not a magical potion to instantly remove hair, Inhibitif uses three active ingredients at their highest ever concentrations to reduce hair growth almost down to nothing and, thus, the need for epilation. Just spray it twice a day for 2 months then every other day.

Skin Perfecting Body Scrub – Consonant Skincare

Using only natural and organic ingredients, Consonant Skin Perfecting Body Scrub was created in collaboration with Toronto’s Fuzz Wax Bar to provide users with a triple-threat against waxing discomfort. The scrub should be used a week before waxing to help prepare your skin and then for at least after waxing in order to prevent in-grown hairs and exfoliate dead skin cells. Since it has glycerin at its base (as opposed to cream or oil), it not only provides moisture but also aids in the adherence of the sugar and salt it uses to exfoliate. No Scream Cream

Available at Allure Body Bar, this cream is pretty much exactly as the title would suggest in preparation before a wax. Make sure you show up to Allure at least 30 minutes before and ask for the cream at the reception.

Dermalogica Soothing Shave Cream

If you’re in a time crunch and absolutely have to shave, we recommend Dermalogica’s Soothing Shave Cream. It delivers a super-close shave that won’t scratch and the aloe vera, allantoin, and comfrey extract helps dry and sensitive skin (read: everybody in a Canadian winter) recover from damage while reducing aggravation.
