Farzi Café

Farzi Café is owned by the world-renowned and award winning culinary group Massive Restaurants and marks Farzi Café’s first North American location. The London location was officially recognized by Michelin Guide in 2019.
MasterChef India judge Zorawar Kalra, AKA the “Prince of Indian Cuisine,” is responsible for the magic-making in the kitchen.
We caught up with Chef Saurabh Mod to chat more about Farzi Café and its celebrated menu.
How would you describe the menu?
The menu at Farzi Café is a playful twist on Indian food. We take global influences and give them a bold Indian twist. Farzi Café is all about illusion. We use innovative, molecular techniques, and we are authentic when it comes to our flavours.

What have become quick crowd-pleasers since you opened up?
There are many star dishes on the menu. We have received an overwhelming response from the crowd. The Dal Chawal Arancini – lentil risotto balls with a poppadom roll; Butter Chicken Bao – the fusion of Chinese bao incorporated with Indian butter chicken; Deconstructed Pani Puri; Tempura Fried Prawns; and Ras Mali Tres Leches are some of the favourites here.
What is the most photo-worthy dish?

It’s difficult to choose the most photo-worthy dish as there are many spectacular looking dishes on the menu. We have worked on the menu for over a year. We present Indian cuisine, where culinary meets the alchemy of modern presentations and cooking techniques, like molecular gastronomy, offering guests the ultimate gastronomic illusion. Every dish at Farzi Café is a treat for your tastebuds and your eyes.
Deconstructed Pani Puri is full of theatrics and flavours. The Farzified version is the tart filled with a jiggly gel made up of tamarind, green apple and relish. Gulab Jamun is unique in its own way. It is served with liquid nitrogen kulfi and pieces of fresh rose petals. Another beautiful dish on the menu is the Ras Malai Tres Leches which is a creative mashup of Ras Malai and Tres Leches cake. The sponge cake is soaked with saffron and cardamom, flavoured with three milks and then topped with carrot cream and rose petal net.
What dish are you most proud of?
Dal Chawal Arancini. It is our version of Indianized arancini, made of Dal and chawal coated with Panko bread crumbs, fried, and served on a bed of onion and tomato salsa. As dal and chawal go well with achar papad and chutney, it is served along with achari coulis, coriander chutney and a small papad roll on top.
Can we expect the menu to change?
We are always working towards providing the best gourmet dining experience. It’s our constant endeavour to offer something new to our patrons. We will refresh the menu after a few months; however the signature dishes will stay.
