If you’re a little late to your New Year’s Resolutions – or you’re just looking to change up your normal workout routine – there are so many fitness and wellness studios popping up in the city. Local favourites are expanding, hotspots are expanding their offerings, and new experiences are taking the fitness space by storm. So, with so much happening, we’re highlighting our favourite new ways to get your sweat on in Toronto.
Here are the hottest workout experiences:
STRONG Pilates
This brand-new studio in Little Italy is the first location of its kind in Canada. It’s a 45-minute, high-intensity, low-impact workout that combines cardio, resistance training and Pilates-inspired movements. The Australian-born classes include Rowformer and Bikeformer machines that are brand new to the Canadian fitness scene.
Jaybird’s new studio
The Queen West location has become one of the most popular studios in the city for hot yoga and pilates, and took its beloved brand of sweat north, opening a second outpost in Yorkville. Established in Vancouver in 2019, the space’s vibe evokes calm with deep hues, dim lighting, and merch.

LOFT Fitness Club’s unique workout
Inside LOFT’s Midtown location, there’s a cool new concept taken from a top party experience. Silent Spin is “an immersive ‘silent disco’ concept that utilises headsets for heightened internal focus and customizable volume,” according to the press release. They also offer traditional workout classes like yoga and pilates, as well as themed experiences that bump Queen, Dua Lipa and more.
A workout in the sky at Altea Active
In addition to a brand-new reformer pilates studio, Altea Active offers a unique experience: aerial yoga. It’s literally yoga suspended in the air. Classes are often and at various times throughout the day, and post-class relaxation options like a Himalayan salt cave and a sauna – as well as a restaurant – are available.
Our favourite gym accessories
We know that no workout is complete without a good outfit and top-notch accessories. We love moving our bodies in House iD‘s gym attire, from flattering one-pieces and sets to baggy sweats and shorts. Men and women alike can find their new movement uniform thanks to the Canadian brand.
To keep yourself hydrated, we love the Vitapod water bottle. It works like a Keurig machine but for water! Choose from different pods packed with flavours designed for a unique function, from extra hydration to beauty-boosting to an electrolyte boost for a workout. Whatever your vibe is for your workout, there’s something to satisfy your tastebuds.
