What to expect at the Hope & Sesame in Toronto pop-up
Hope & Sesame has its roots in Guangzhou China. It’s essentially a speakeasy, hidden away behind a traditional Cantonese store. They’re known for their selection of innovative cocktails, earning them a spot among the list of the top 50 bars in Asia.
Some of the classics you can find on the menu include the Spicy Not Spicy with Havana Club 3 White Rum, Yellow Chartreuse, and Chamomile Passion Fruit. There’s also the Coconut Old Fashion, which blends the flavours of Chivas 12yo Whiskey, Coconut Aged, Pandan Leafs Cardamom Bitters, and Coconut Water.

Next week, co-founders and renowned mixologists Andrew Ho and Bastien Ciocca will be in Toronto whipping up six expertly crafted cocktails.
The Hope & Sesame Guest Shift is taking place on March 7 & 8 at Flora Lounge in 1 Hotel Toronto. There will only be two Guest Shifts, one on each day from 7 pm-10 pm. There are no reservations as it’s only open for walk-ins on both evenings.
According to the website, Hope & Sesame focuses on experimental techniques for their cocktails, along with micro-seasonal sourcing. And by excluding reservations, the intent is to make it accessible for anyone and everyone.
