Yeezy Season 4 – the End of Kanye?

Just last week at New York Fashion Week, Kanye West debuted his fourth instalment of Yeezy, a streetwear tour de force that has sold millions and has been copied by fast fashion retailers worldwide. Everyone wants a piece of that ripped t-shirt, bodycon leotard and see-through plastic boots. But this season, the presentation, which took place on Roosevelt Island, has been rumoured to be the last of Kanye West for the fashion industry. Models fainted. Models were not paid. An open casting for “multiracial” girls has sent the Internet in a frenzy. HighSnobeity even went as far as to call Kanye “exploitative” in his gesture to force regular, untrained women to partake in performance art, under the guise of “15 minutes of fame” or something like that. Everyone is revolting against the Yeezy brand once and for all. We ask, will this really be the end?
Ryan Lochte attacked by protester on Dancing With the Stars

On the debut night of Dancing With the Stars, extremely controversial celebrity cast member, Ryan Lochte was actually attacked during his performance. Guys, this is true! In unseen, unaired footage, it was revealed that Ryan was attacked by two audience members wearing anti-Lochte t-shirts. These offenders were rushed out by security, as reported on US Weekly but left Ryan shaken. Later, a few members in the audience were also booing him and caused Hough to go over and yell at them. “I feel like this is my home,” says Hough, “and you don’t bring that into my home.” One thing is for sure, Ryan is going to have a hard time digging himself out of his Olympic hole.

BLIND ITEM: New Hire at Luxury Accessories Brand, Mistake?

There’s a new employee in town and it does not look pretty! We’ve heard through the grapevine that a recent hire at a luxury accessories brand outpost in Canada has been deemed unqualified as well as ruffling people’s feathers both internally and with independent contractors. The new employee was allegedly fired from their old position at another big corporation, later to be hired by a luxury accessories brand looking to up their game. But it might all be a big mistake when it is rumoured that some people have vowed to stop working with the brand, if this person continues to be their contact. But perhaps they are all just jealous of the dream job this person has acquired? It’s getting juicy.
T-Swift, Third Wheel

Ok, when Tommy Hilfiger said the most important thing he had to worry about was “figuring out where Taylor Swift is going to sit” at his fashion show last week in New York City, the designer mogul was absolutely not kidding. If anyone knows anything about the relationship between co-designer, model and IG-star, Gigi Hadid and her relationship with Taylor Swift, they cannot be separated, not even for a minute! In fact, just the other evening, T-Swift was spotted playing third wheel to Gigi and her boyfriend, Zayn Malik, as she basically shadowed them on their date. Who was really on the date though? Zayn and Gigi or Gigi and Taylor? C’mon.
Rob Kardashian, you are NOT the Father

Wah, all the news about these two is just so cringe-worthy but we love it. Allegedly, in a sneaky teaser, producers showed Blac Chyna demanding a paternity test from Rob Kardashian and getting a needle in her arm. The attempt was to stir the pot and get viewers super duper excited to watch the show. But it kinda backfired when it was revealed all to be a lie. A ploy! Ok, admittedly, Blac Chyna did threaten Rob that he was not the father but she did that just to piss him off, as TMZ reports. As far as we know, Rob is the dad, but they might still be saving some of the gory drama between these two on-again-off-again lovebirds for Season 2. What? There is absolutely going to be a Season 2 if Kris has anything to do with it.
NYFW, #AD Moment

It appears that New York Fashion Week, apart from becoming one of most talked about events on social media right now, is also becoming a massive digital marketing machine. In previous years, bloggers and influencers would partner with brands to sit front row, get dressed by their favourite designers, maybe do a Snapchat takeover to get their hotel comped. This season? It’s time to pay the piper. Influencers of the highest regard have been posting #ad beside most of their NYFW coverage, making this season one of the most profitable for them. But it’s working. The brand alignment with New York Fashion Week and the world’s top influencers is going to be something we’ll be seeing more and more of in the future. From teeth whitening to blow dryers to hair products to even getting paid to attend events, it seems fashion week has turned into a big commercial success.
