TIFF 2015 guest lists: bloggers versus PR peeps
Juice factor: 9/10
The “do you know who I am?” fights have already kicked off, and the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival only officially starts today. It’s not Hollywood heavyweights tossing their names around as threats and leverage though–it’s local bloggers and media personalities. Local PR peeps in charge of manning some of the most exclusive guest lists of the year on home turf are already bumping heads with so-called local celebs who seem to think their industry credentials carry as much weight as the last name Cumberbatch when it comes to RSVPing for VIP events and intimate parties. Some of the biggest players in PR during the festival are already complaining of over-inflated egos demanding entry for themselves plus guests to events that barely have enough room to accommodate actual stars. Things are going to get ugly this week as the red carpets roll out. Stay tuned…
The Toronto wedding of the year
Juice factor: Everybody who’s anyone was there
Normally, the idea of spending Labour Day weekend–the last of summer’s long weekends–engulfed in the marital festivities of another couple is a painful, almost cruel thought, but the wedding already known by its trending Instagram hashtag #KingHew was the exception to the rule. If you weren’t there, you’d better have had an out-of-town alibi. From Jeanne Beker, Joe Mimran, and Kimberley Newport-Mimran to Ben Mulroney, Jessica Mulroney, Traci Melchor, and Suzanne Boyd, the who’s who of Toronto came out to see Michael King and David Hew tie the knot over the weekend. Although the couple wed at Hart House on Sunday, the entire Labour Day holiday weekend was jam-packed with a champagne-fueled cruise on Lake Ontario, high tea, dance floor antics, and more. See the hoopla for yourself at #KingHew… you know, if you weren’t there.

Where to catch the TIFF 2015 stars tonight…
Juice factor: 8/10
Heidi Klum and James Franco are throwing what’s set to be the most star-studded party of TIFF 2015’s opening day. Both Klum and Franco are chairs of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, which is why they’re headlining the AMBI Gala Supporting Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Prince Albert and Princess Charlene will also be at The Four Seasons for the event, along with host Martin Short and performer Diana Ross. Yes, Diana Ross. Tickets are wildly expensive, but we suggest smoking cigarettes on the surrounding sidewalk if you’re looking to have a run-in with a famous face.
Blind Item: TV personality redefining getting up close and personal?
Juice factor: 9/10
This Toronto TV personality has spent a lot of time both locally and in Hollywood covering cinema’s hottest stars for Canadian networks. Maybe she takes her job too seriously — or maybe it’s not seriously enough — but she definitely hasn’t been tight-lipped about her one-time love affair with this Hollywood A-lister and Oscar-nominated actor. Will her romantic escapades with the stars she interviews finally hit the gossip pages as she grows less and less careful? We’re excited to see what happens when she welcomes her crushes to her homeland at TIFF 2015.
Terry Richardson: Sexual predator or Kardashian sidekick?
Juice factor: 8/10
Just when you thought photographer Terry Richardson’s career might be over, Mom-ager of the year Kris Jenner let her youngest duckling get scantily clad for a notoriously-raw Richardson photo shoot. It must be barely-legal Kylie Jenner’s time to shine in the limelight rotation wheel that is Kardashian family news. The newly-turned 18-year-old smiled for the defamed photographer’s camera while doing a series of sexually suggestive poses for the cover of Galore magazine–apparently, this is a Kardashian koming-of-age rite of passage.
Blind Item Part Deux: Who knew Canada was home to so many starfuckers?
Juice Factor: 9/10
Perhaps the subject of our first blind item seems desperate to rekindle her romance with her larger-than-life former fling, but this local media personality clearly isn’t heartbroken after having a memorable one-night stand with a famous face. In fact, when the star in question tied the knot, his former civilian flame was even in attendance at the wedding.
