Blind Item: Stealing is the new open bar
Juice Factor: 9/10
We’ve all known the odd kleptomaniac in our lifetimes, but usually those acquaintances either turn over a new leaf after high school or at least end up in jail for grand theft auto come their 20s. This media scenester is practically middle-aged, but she just can’t seem to get enough of the freebies–so much so that open bar and catered press events don’t quite sate her. She’s often seen putting anything clearly not for the taking in her purse while out on the press scene. From bottles of booze to swag that wasn’t in her gift bag, she’s getting almost too comfortable taking what’s not hers.
Blind Item: PR girl who probably needs a PR girl…
Juice Factor: 9/10
Sure, she runs the ship, but it’s hard to believe she’s even making money these days with the constant downgrades in clients and lack of significant presence on the media scene. She’s got a rep for hitting the bottle hard, and an even worse rep for getting a little too drunk to pay the bill, leaving her companions to cover for her–which happens to some of us now and again, but not when we’re entertaining clients.

Kanye & Will Smith show allegiance to #TeamDrake
Juice Factor: 9/10
Drake used home turf to rip Meek Mill a new one on stage at Monday night’s OVO Fest, dissing his rival while performing in front of a PowerPoint presentation of mocking memes. But the real slam happened backstage where Drizzy laughed it up after the public shaming of Meek Mill with guest performer Kanye West and Will Smith who’s still in town shooting Suicide Squad. The Fresh Prince might be from West Philly–Meek Mill’s stomping grounds–but he’s siding with the 6ix and our boy wonder in this feud. What’s the worst that can happen by getting in one little fight, right Will?
Toronto bloggers, beware…
Juice Factor: 10/10
If New York Fashion Week’s lack of love for bloggers these days hasn’t quite hit home yet in Canada, things might start to get rough for the bloggers this side of the border, too. And we don’t just mean standing room only at Fashion Week. Tons of high-profile brands, PR, and marketing peeps in Canada still think bloggers have some sway, but their level of influence isn’t actually what’s under the microscope–it’s their honesty. For quite some time now, everyone from professional Instagrammers, YouTube stars, and fashion bloggers have taken compensation to shout-out their so-called favourite products. This is all perfectly legal provided the shout-outer in question makes it clear it’s a sponsored post. While Canadians often assume their American counterparts will take the heat before they get red flagged, a big media darling in Toronto was just recently asked by a legal department to point the finger at digital-era bloggers and the like who she believes get compensated for product placement and mentions but don’t make their good fortunes known to their readers/viewers. Word is she threw a few well-known “personal brand” masters under the bus–just for the hell of it. Turns out New York Fashion Week isn’t all the blogger shut down. Yikes.
Blind Item: Mo’ money, mo’ problems… or at least mo’ cocaine
Juice Factor: 8 /10
He might have his home base in Toronto, and while he manages to keep his relationship and career intact when he’s on home turf, he hits it hard when he’s working outside of the country. That’s happening more and more as his Hollywood cred escalates–and apparently so does his coke problem. He’s been more reckless when out and about in T.O. too, often leaving his significant other to wonder where he ends up some nights.
