Little Anthony’s – Summerlicious 2013 Menu
Nothing’s as fresh as a facelift, and that’s exactly what Little Anthony’s had just over a year ago. Along with a new menu and new chef, the reincarnated Little Anthony’s has gone from relic of the past to totem for the future. And luckily for you, dearest readers, you can experience that salute to innovation with their steal of a Summerlicious dinner. Go for the Zuppa di Zucchine with fresh mint, cucumber and basil to start because it’s summer and a light soup is totally okay during bikini/ab-showoff season. Then, you must try (please take that as words from God) the Filetto di Branzino with PEI mussels, fava beans, fennel and orange. We’ve had this dish before, and it’s a stunner with a staccato of flavours that’s at once unexpected yet wholly harmonious. Finally, end with the classic tiramisu as it’s light as a cloud. Little Anthony’s has big impact.
La Societe – Summerlicious 2013 Menu
Tres chic, darling, tres chic. La Societe is literally where the society folk congregate. The patio is a stunner, the dining room is like a Parisian bistro, and the food is classic French with contemporary twists. That’s partly why we’re tres excitee (any Francophones reading this please disregard our sad attempts at Frenglish) for their $20 Summerlicious lunch. Ahem… Dear server, we’ll take the watermelon heirloom salad with crumbled goat cheese, and then we’ll follow with the chicken Cordon Bleu avec des garden beans and Paris ham. (Because who the eff makes chicken Cordon Bleu anymore? Sadly, no one.) Dessert? Non, non! We are too full! Okay, you twisted our arms! Let’s have the wild strawberry chocolate mousse… and please, another glass of champagne, dahling. Merci!

Nyood – Summerlicious 2013 Menu
Contrary to popular belief, Nyood was not named thusly because you can dine there naked. Go figure. We’re not actually 100 per cent sure where its name came from, nor are we interested enough to pick up the phone and call. What has caught our eye, however, is their Summerlicious menu. Cornmeal crusted fried oysters with creole slaw and jalapeño vinaigrette sounds a li’l too delicious to pass up. Scallops – with cauliflower purée and smoked chorizo, no less – tickle us in special places. And an espresso coffee parfait? Ooh! Now we’re ready to digest and take on the night with a bit of a caffeine buzz. Perfs.
Kultura Restaurant – Summerlicious 2013 Menu
Always on trend and always filled with beautiful people, Kultura is a whirlwind of continental cuisine. We actually had quite the tough time deciding what would be the perfect picks from the Summerlicious menu, but after a strong debate that led to crumpled up tissues filled with stolen tears and “we’ll be alright” hugs, we’ve come up with the best possible (IOHO, a la IMHO) options: strawberry gazpacho with Thai basil, black pepper coconut crouton, and crispy duck skin; the famous mushroom orecchiette featuring shiitake, oyster, and king oyster mushrooms with a pinot noir pear chutney, and 5-year-old cheddar; and the chocolate banana spring rolls with Ferrero Rocher gelato, simply because that sounds stupidly decadent.
Bloke & 4th – Summerlicious 2013 Menu
Social dining has hardly been as energetic as at Bloke & 4th, a jewel in the King West crown. Their Summerlicious menu is as hot as the season (the weather to come, not currently, aight?), so we’re theming our three selects with their Mexican-inspired dishes. First, snatch up the fire roasted shrimp with chili honey, guacamole and elephant garlic chips. Follow that up with uber fresh, beer battered tilapia tacos with an avocado and apple relish, lime spiked red cabbage and smoked sour cream. (Really, how could you not?) And for dessert, the Bloke & 4th churros with cinnamon sugar dust, bourbon caramel sauce, and chocolate sauce. Leave it to these blokes to do Mexican better than Mexi-can. (#LamePun #WhaleFail)

Mildred’s Temple Kitchen – Summerlicious 2013 Menu
Revel in the temple and get schooled on good eats at Mildred’s during Summerlicious. We love dining there at lunchtime as it’s slow paced in Liberty Village and we like ourselves some respite. So, if you’re doing MTK, here are your top three, tried-and-tested selects: 1) the trout crudo; 2) the revered MTK burger; and 3) the affogato. Game. Set. Match.
