The 411: Negroni Week 2020

Meet, if you haven’t already, the the bacon of cocktails–the Negroni.

This cocktail started as a Campari and vermouth spritzer with sparkling water, and then the Count Negroni from Florence asked for a splash of gin and the cocktail was automatically named after him. Made with 1 ounce of each of the below 3 ingredients, this cocktail is one of the most classic and beloved by many. 

A Negroni is Typically Made with:

Campari – An Italian liqueur, considered an apéritif, obtained from the infusion of herbs and fruit in alcohol and water. It is a bitter, characterized by its dark red colour.

Vermouth – The classic one to use is Cinzano is an Italian brand of vermouth, a brand owned since 1999 by Gruppo Campari.

London Gin – to add a hit of heightened pleasure. 

This cocktail is served on ice with an orange zest twisted aromas and served as the garnish.

Running all of this week September 14th-20th this celebration is focused all around charity and the idea of raising much-needed funds for bar and restaurant workers impacted by COVID-19 brought to you by @CampariCanada.
