Serving up Mexican, Japanese & Korean fusion dishes
The Haam is the perfect place for those who equally love Mexican and Asian foods. Tucked into a space within the Entertainment District, the atmosphere is fun, and vibrant, yet intimate. The restaurant keeps it interesting with a menu that changes every 3-5 months, however, there are a few staple items that always remain the same. The menu changed during the middle of March, which included more izakaya-inspired tapas and cocktails.
The Eats
Some dishes served at The Haam have a Japanese-inspired spin on classic Mexican dishes. To start, we enjoyed a delicious array of appetizers like the Elote starter, Haam’s No 1 Spicy Fries, Panko Soft Shell Crab and Tuna Ceviche.
They have a variety of options to choose from when it comes to tacos, such as the Cameron and Carnitas. The Cameron tacos are definitely a must-have! Similarly, the Lobster Grande will make your dining experience one to remember. Also delicious is the assorted aburi sushi. We ended the meal with a hot matcha and Jasmine tea, along with the Under-the-Sea macaroon. The Haam gets 5 stars from us for its amazing food!

The Haam is perfect for dates or just a group of friends. Since the portions aren’t huge, it’s perfect for sharing and trying a little bit of everything!
The Drinks
When we arrived, we took a look at their amazing cocktail list and decided to try some of their creative drinks. The Lychee Sangria and Yuzu Totoro were amazing options as the Sangria was a perfect combination of flavours and the subtle lychee made it sweet but not too sweet. The Sake is also a great selection for a drink for the second course.
The Looks
The space has an urban retro vibe but still has a laid-back atmosphere. The Haam is a smaller space, very cozy with its exposed brick and greenery. But, it also has a bit of an industrial feel with its exposed pipes, lights, and brick, along with its dark decor. With a total of 34 seats, the restaurant welcomes small groups.
The VIBE
The staff here are great. They are super friendly and don’t be afraid to ask them about the menu since they know everything there is to know! Everyone has a great vibe and personality that makes you feel right at home. If you’re sick of the same old food, this place will definitely shake things up for you in terms of food, drinks, and music. Venture to your wild side and lets get experimental!
