Fans of Mediterranean cuisine have something to celebrate: Tahini’s just opened a new spot downtown. The popular restaurant chain is bringing its crowd-pleasing dishes to a fresh location, making it easier for locals to grab their favourite Mediterranean meals in the heart of the city. So whether you’re already a fan or looking to try it out for the first time, you can head to 32 Downes St.

“This is a landmark moment for Tahini’s,” Omar Hamam, Founder and CEO of Tahini’s, said in a press release statement. “Opening a location at such an iconic address as 1 Yonge Street is a testament to the incredible support we’ve received across Canada. Toronto is a city that thrives on diversity, and we’re excited to bring our bold Mediterranean flavours to this dynamic community.”
Like the other locations, this new one will have classic items like Butter Chicken Shawarma, Jamaican Jerk Shawarma, and Habibi Bowl.

There are currently 56 locations across the country and they have plans to expand into the United States. Tahini aims to have 100 locations within this year.
“Opening a Tahini’s restaurant in Toronto feels like the perfect opportunity to bring my experience and love for Mediterranean cuisine to this vibrant city,” Dr. Tariq Mahmood, who owns the franchise, also said in the press release statement.
The menu for Tahini’s in Toronto features wraps like Chicken Shawarma, Crispy Falafel, Blueberry Flame Shawarma, and more. They also offer Shawarma Bowls and Fusion Bowls like Jamaican Jerk Chicken Shawarma and Classic Rice Bowls.
