Here’s the insider’s guide to TIFF tickets, schedules and more

Can you even call yourself a Torontonian if you haven’t been to the Toronto International Film Festival? Whether you’re a TIFF virgin or a seasoned attendee, this year is going to look a little different. The pandemic put a damper in all in-person events the last few years but luckily this year will consist of in-person events again. From tickets to health protocols and everything in-between, this TIFF guide will prep you for success at the festival this year.

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2024

The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to transforming how people perceive the world through the lens of cinema. Each year, TIFF offers an extensive lineup that includes film screenings, lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and special events, all aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of film as an art form. The festival also provides opportunities for professional development and direct engagement with filmmakers from Canada and around the globe.

As the world’s largest public film festival, TIFF 2024, running from September 5 to 15, will feature over 300 films, showcasing a diverse array of voices and stories. This year’s in-person screenings will take place at some of Toronto’s most iconic venues, including the TIFF Bell Lightbox, Roy Thomson Hall, the Royal Alexandra Theatre, the Scotiabank Theatre, and the Visa Screening Room at the Princess of Wales Theatre. These locations will host a mix of premieres, red carpet events, and special presentations, bringing the magic of cinema to life for audiences in Toronto .

Tickets

For TIFF 2024, individual screenings become available to the public starting on August 26, 2024. However, TIFF Members have earlier access to ticket sales based on their membership level, with sales starting as early as August 16, 2024. If you want to ensure you get tickets to the screenings you’re most interested in, it’s recommended to become a TIFF Member or sign up for a TIFF Insider presale.

The specific dates for member presales are as follows:

• August 16: Leader Members

• August 17: Champion Members

• August 18: Patron Members

• August 19: Sustainer Members

• August 20: Contributor Members

• August 21: Individual and Industry Members

These pre-sales allow members to secure tickets before they become available to the general public on August 26.
