Summertime is synonymous with celebrating the outdoors, camping, barbecuing, kicking back with a brew, and catching an endless array of live music (and likely a bit of a sunburn while you’re at it). This summer, there’s quite the line up of music festivals taking place around the province – and we’ve got the scoop on at least three we think you need to add to your calendar… pronto!
Keloha Music and Arts Festival
This festival takes over the sunny waterfront shores of Lake Okanagan in Kelowna later this summer (July 11th to 13th), and we’re definitely going to schedule in some time off to attend. Back for it’s third year, this festival, produced by Wet Ape Productions, is one you won’t want to miss and all but transforms the stage into an island-style escape – complete with tiki torches, lakeside lounge beverage gardens, palm trees, and a stellar lineup of musicians worth tuning into. Catch headlining acts The Naked and Famous, Local Natives, Sky Ferreira, Kongos, St. Lucia, The Mowgli’s, Terraplane Sun, Hey Ocean!, Blondfire, The Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer, Jon and Roy, and many more.
As if the music isn’t enough to make you happy, Keloha is all about summer fun and all the activities that go along with it. Think a sandcastle building competition, multi-venue after party series, and an interactive artistic component titled Art Ave. that is acting as the festival’s creative hub this summer. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, May 15th with special 3-day passes starting at $99, or score the 3-day Platinum passes for $199 and get exclusive access.
