On Friday, June 15th, over 1,250 guests took to the dance floor at the glamorous fourth annual All-Star Gala 2018. The Gala was in support of SickKids at the Toronto Event Centre. Guest included Brett Connolly (Washington Capitals), Brandon Tanev (Winnipeg Jets), J.P. Arencibia (Retired Toronto Blue Jay), Dylan Sikura (Chicago Blackhawks), Jay Onrait (Emcee of the gala and TSN host), Cabbie Richards (TSN host) and Lauren Howe (Miss Universe Canada).
Toronto’s best dressed young professionals and VIP guests sipped on Tito’s Handmaid Vodka cocktails, participated in sports-based interactive games. They bet on luxury silent auction items and enjoyed impressive performances by top DJs, musicians and dancers.
Evan Hollinrake, the remarkable 7-year-old SickKids patient and aspiring TV host stole the show while on stage with TSN’s Jay Onrait. Brett Connolly of the Capitals also hopped on stage to surprise Evan and his family. The surprise includes a trip to visit the Stanley Cup Champions in Washington next season to watch a game and meet the players. All thanks to a generous donation from the Newlands Family Foundation.
