Vogue’s Identity Crisis?

We can’t help but wonder if Vogue is having an identity crisis. After featuring Kanye West and Kim Kardashian on the cover to tie in with the high-profile couple’s 2014 wedding, the one-time world-renowned fashion bible has now jumped on the Fifty Shades of Grey bandwagon. Dakota Johnson is on the most recent cover of the magazine in anticipation of the February release of the film adaptation of the erotic book, starring Johnson as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey. Vogue declares Johnson a “breakout star” on its cover, and the magazine had the actress star in a short film to accompany the issue online. Perhaps they’re hurting for readers more than we thought. It’s not quite as obvious a move as Paper Magazine‘s #BreakTheInternet cover featuring Kim Kardashian’s nude behind, but it’s not the Vogue we used to know…

Justin Bieber’s 2015 Comeback Takes Off

Justin Bieber proved he can take a joke over the weekend after he responded to Saturday Night Live‘s spoof on his potentially stuffed briefs in his new Calvin Klein ad by tweeting: “@nbcsnl well played. Lol.” If the CK ad ignited what we can only imagine is the “2015 Comeback of the Biebs,” he’s rollin’ with it. He’s reportedly going to be roasted in his own Comedy Central special in March.

Before the media could make anything of the two women’s supposed rivalry, Aniston — always a class act — put the rumours to bed. “That movie is so beautiful and wonderful, and she did such a gorgeous job,” she said of Jolie’s new role in Unbroken. And she didn’t stop there. She also addressed their longtime faux feud head-on: “I think it’s time people stop with that petty B.S. and just start celebrating great work and stop with the petty kind of silliness,” she continued. “It’s just tiresome and old. It’s like an old leather shoe. Let’s buy a new pair of shiny shoes.”
