If this past year has taught us anything, it’s that working on our fitness, checking-in on our mental health and getting outside are definitely essentials to leading a full and healthy lifestyle. Finding a nice park to workout at is a great way to work on our fitness, a fantastic excuse to get outside and, overall, will subsequently have a positive impact on our mental health. So, the following are some parks throughout The 6ix that feature plenty of room for cardio, cool calisthenics equipment for strength training, and have some pretty nice scenery to help with enjoying the outdoors.

Here are 4 parks to workout at in Toronto
Withrow Park
Located just Southwest of Danforth Avenue and Pape Avenue, Withrow Park looks like it came straight out of a feel-good Hollywood movie. This beautiful park features a full calisthenics outdoor gym as well as plenty of room to move around for some cardio. Speaking of Danforth Avenue, the many restaurants along the major road makes this park a great location if you are someone who loves a healthy post-workout snack.

Stadium Road Park
If you’re located close to Stadium Road Park and want to check out its outdoor fitness equipment, you are strongly advised to do so. Located just south of the western starting point to Queens Quay West, this harbourfront park is a fantastic place for workouts. It features the perfect combination of being in a cool downtown location, having some awesome equipment and showing off a stunning waterfront view. Also, it’s conveniently placed in a spot to start a glorious post-workout jog along the lake.

Lakeshore Boulevard Parklands
This park is located just northwest of the intersection at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Jameson Avenue. Similarly to the last park, Lakeshore Boulevard Parklands also features a beautiful view of the lake with a full outdoor fitness experience. The unique aspect about this park is that it’s located right beside Marilyn Bell Park Tennis Courts, which is open to the public. So, it’s very possible to plan a workout and some tennis fun all in the same day.

Woodbine Beach/ Ashbridges Bay Park
Although it isn’t exactly your average park, the Woodbine Beach/ Ashbridges Bay Park has an outdoor fitness area that cannot be ignored. Located in a hidden oasis of trees and rocks just southeast of the Woodbine Beach Volleyball Courts, this park is the definition of fitness combined with the outdoors. Although it’s not exactly easy to find, this location is perfect for a workout that’s immediately followed by a refreshing dip in the lake.
